Biography

Heiko & Maiko, born in the former GDR, have been working together as a DJ team since 1996. In 1998 they both began their careers as radio presenters and DJs at MDR Sputnik, where they hosted their own show "Der Club". When the radio station MDR Jump started broadcasting on January 1, 2000, Heiko & Maiko switched to it and presented the programs "Flirt am Freitag" and "Jump auf Tour mit Europcar", a program live from clubs and festivals. For the latter they were awarded the German DJ Award 2003 in May 2003 in the category Best Radio Show. The musical career began in the same year. In 2005 "Glücklich" was released, her biggest success in the German charts to date and that although dance tracks paired with German vocals were rather unusual. Internationally, Heiko & Maiko are well known in the Tecktonik scene, where they shaped the sound with "Morseton" and "Techno Rock". Heiko & Maiko stand for a mix of house, dance, progressive and techno with mostly German vocals and some references to the 80s and 90s and a certain "wink".
