Biography
Hargo Khalsa (aka HARGO) is a producer & singer/songwriter known for a sound that is as diverse as his background… Raised in a yoga Ashram with Kundalini master Yogi Bhajan in New Mexico, Hargo at an early age began mixing the Kirtan/mantra traditions he grew up in with rock, alternative and electronic music. His 2012 debut album Out of Mankind was hailed by Billboard Magazine and American Songwriter as "mesmerizing", "anthemic" and "thinking-man's Rock", caught the attention of Beatles producer Phil Spector who dubbed him "a Young John Lennon". On HARGO’s 2021 release "From The Rooftops", he teamed up with Lana del Rey producer Daniel Heath to create a sonic journey of hope with 60's psychedelic textures over huge tribal beats, garnering the praise, "This song is LIFE!" His latest single “Domine” is a alt/hip hop banger, opening with a baroque choir as the beat drops with a gritty, soulful vocal. Featuring Trans Rapper and VH1 Miss Rap Supreme's Bree telling the story of, "hustling and bustling from wakin' til sleep", praying to make the dream become real. A tabla-filled bhangra breakdown in the vein of Apache Indian's first hit "Movie Over India" continues HARGO's connection to East Indian popular crossover music.
