Biography
Leading a trail of glitter, Chateau Chateau was birthed in 2018 by Bleu & Alex. Meeting in AZ, they immediately picked up their bedazzled keytar & googly-eye guitar & began making the cathartic indie-pop sprinkled with post punk that they’ve become known for. They explore dark subjects like mental illness, addiction, trauma, etc., with effervescent tracks full of grim humor & sarcasm. Yet always encourage independence, resilience & growth. Self-released, debut single, ‘Crisis Party’(2018), gained overnight attention. With the momentum they sank the hook with their shows; featuring up to 9 people, always sequined self-made fits, props, confetti cannons, giant dancing eyeballs & more. From EP Evidence, to LP Princess, to any of their many singles, they display their growth & evolution, telling an ongoing story in the details. Bleu holds your hand as she takes you on a brutally honest walk through her formative years, revisiting heavy pivotal moments in LP 'Grow Up,' released with legendary Kill Rock Stars. She lets go of guilt & take back all power. Wanting others to know they deserve peace & happiness. "You are not selfish for putting yourself first. I needed someone to tell me 'yes, it sucks. It's awful & it's not fair', period. Someone to finally be honest, & not 'life's not fair, you're in a rut, it gets better' which is invalidating & silencing." Catch the unstoppable power couple at one of their live shows, & see why it doesn’t take long to be enamored by their art.
