    Biography

    Soukayna Jamali, from Oujda, Morocco, began playing music with Al Ismailia Ensemble at the age of ten. She started playing Banjo and Oud in the traditional Arab-Andalusian style of North Africa. Soukayna studied under the tutelage of Tahar Sellami, a respected Andalusian performer in Eastern Morocco. She later joined Riyad Gharnata pour la Musique Authentique and Nassim Al Andalous Ensemble. Soukayna frequently performed at festivals and concerts throughout the Oriental region of Morocco. She has recently embarked on her independent musical career writing her first original single, which has gained airtime on Moroccan radio and a feature in Moroccan national television. Currently in Kansas City, USA, playing for the renowned local band Ensemble Iberica, and taking on new challenges.
