ARTIST THEA HJELMELAND is an artist, composer, writer and multi-instrumentalist from Norway. She is currently releasing her third album KULLA worldwide. Thea has been awarded two Norwegian Grammys for the best Indie/Alternative Album twice, and has been nominated four times. She been touring extensively throughout Norway, Europe and Cuba since she was a teenager. THEA has released three albums and composes music for theatre, dance and movies. She is well-known as an exceptional live artist with a unique, playful expression and soundscape. Her albums reflect this as well. ALBUM KULLA is an upbeat experimental pop album with a taste of soul, jazz, trip-hop and electronica. The lyrics touch upon feminism – with a sarcastic and sometimes morbid sense of humor – but always contain depth and an underlying severity. Thea Hjelmeland is honest and energetic, as are her albums and concerts.
