Biography
Kon Kan was created by Barry Harris (producer/co-producer, vocals, keyboards & guitar). It was Kon Kan's debut album, Move to Move, which spawned a # 15 hit in the U.S.A. & Top 5 around the world with the single "I Beg Your Pardon," which sampled Lynn Anderson's "Rose Garden." Harris hired acquaintance Kevin Wynn to sing on 6 of the 9 songs Harris wrote for the "Move To Move" L.P. & produced the L.P. with John Lind, Dennis Matkosky & Mark Goldenberg in L.A. '89 Harris moved on & with the Kon Kan name he solely owned, he carried on writing, producing & taking over vocal duties on 1990's Syntonic L.P. featuring "Liberty" & later '93's Vida! L.P. released only in Canada w singles “Sinful Wishes” & "S.O.L.". In the mid 90's Harris then turned his attention to creating, writing & producing more Canadian dance outfits, Top Kat, Outta Control, Killer Bunnies. He also released his own solo singles "Funk Like Dat" and "Why'd Ya Let Her" & 2000's "Dive In The Pool" & 2001's "I Got My Pride". Harris co-created Thunderpuss in 1997 - 2005. Most famous for the world-wide dance mix of Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay”. Thunderpuss became in demand remixers for Madonna, Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson, Shakira to name a few
