Kenny Dread's last album We Will Be Lovers recounted a decade of sailing the high seas of polyamory, heartbreak, and hedonistic travel. A middle aged bon vivant (with a spiritual streak) parsing the complexities of friend/lover affairs and life as an expat beach bum. 2019 brought a slew of remixes by producers from LA to London and points in between: House, dub, festival-burn, dream-bubble, and downtempo re-workings. For his new single Kenny Dread threw back to a youth mashing up D.C. punk and gogo funk - including the seminal Static Disruptors track "D.C. Groove". He unearthed an ancient 4-track cassette recorder and salvaged popping funk bass and jiggy guitar from back in the day. Production freshened up with a sexy vocal cameo by Florida EDM singer Ruku and a 10 year old Irish trumpet player and bam here's the new banger :)
