Biography

I'm a film and TV composer who's also part-classical-composer, having been raised on classical music but having classical be my gateway drug to film scores. Beethoven's 9th quickly gave way to "Star Wars" when I was a little kid and my interest grew from there. I've updated Spotify to include most of my existing catalog including a few of my all-time faves: "The Architect" which is an album for string orchestra that I recorded in 2014 in the hall at London's famed AIR Studios; "Hole in the Paper Sky OST" which was the first film from Jessica Biel's production company, Iron Ocean Films, back in 2007; "Look & See: A Portrait of Wendell Berry" which got some raves at SXSW and Sundance recently; and some works like "Architect of the Mind" & "Bernini's Angels" which made some waves when they were choreographed & performed on "So You Think You Can Dance." And around that same time in 2009, my piece "Looking Back" found its way into the FOX TV series "Glee" where it became a recurring love theme for the show's favorite couples: Will & Emma and Rachel & Finn. It also turned up throughout the series in moments of poignancy. As a huge fan of the show, it was amazing to hear my own music coming out of the TV while I was watching it. Now and then I take a break from classical and film world to write cinematic post-rock, and I release those albums under the name "The Candlepark Stars" (The Candlepark Stars) - who you can also find here on Spotify.
