Biography

Shug Hzy is an artist from Federal Way, Washington, a city just outside of Seattle. Raised in one of the most diverse school districts in the country, his music is a reflection of life experiences, influenced by cross genres and modern sounds, while still embracing his love for traditional rap. His passion for music started in middle school with hip-hop and R&B which translated to creating music as class projects for open minded teachers. Raised by a single mom, he looked up to male artists that seemed to have a good head on their shoulders. When he first heard Maybach Curtains by Meek Mill, he knew he wanted to be a rapper, noting that nothing had ever made him feel such emotion, and that he wanted to give that to others with his voice. Since then, he has been learning music production, doing everything from his home studio and focusing on pushing the limits with his writing. His current sound can be described as melodic rap, defined by catchy melodies and deep lyricism. He now resides in Seattle, Washington and his goal is to connect with fans on a global level. His latest project, "Trouble From The Deep End" is his second project, following "Artificially Fine" in 2019. It is the first released under his own creative label "Artificially Fine" and features his most popular track, "I Don't Need You."
