Biography

Charming Liars' evolution began in London when guitarist Karnig Manoukian and bassist Mike Kruger were teens. Both came from homes with eclectic musical tastes, and that early exposure informed their approach to making music. 
 In 2013 the two moved to LA, where they met vocalist Kiliyan Maguire. They realized early on that the three had an organic musical chemistry that would lead to interesting possibilities. 
 2019 was a breakout year for the band, who released their debut album, Thought, Flesh and Bone, follow-up acoustic EP, Bare Bones, and a live collection titled Live 2019. They headlined shows on the West Coast, toured Europe with The Faim, and crossed the U.S. with Angels & Airwaves. Most recently Charming Liars returned to Europe with Palaye Royale. 
 Despite the challenges posed by 2020, Charming Liars released a series of singles including “Favorite Show,” “BLAME,” and “Impact.” The songs have caught the attention of listeners around the world, and publications like NPR, Grammy.com, Alternative Press, idobi Radio & more. They ended the year with the “Live Sounds Of 2020” video series, which captured the energy of live shows that fans had been missing. 
 Charming Liars has shared additional live videos over the last few months, and recently debuted their new EP Sequence 1: Noise Maker. They look forward to playing the new songs live and reconnecting with fans when they hit the road with The Hunna in December.
