Biography
Nalin Perera is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, composer and leader of Marians. He is known to be one of the most popular musicians in the Sri Lankan music industry. He founded Marians in 1988 which is now one of the most reputed bands of Sri Lanka. Nalin joined Nightingales as a vocalist in 1985 and continued to be so for 3 years. His life took a turn in 1988 when he became the head prefect of his school and he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. With the help of late Rev. Bro. Alosious who was the school principle at the time he formed a band with few of his school mates and named it "Marians". The first concert of Marians was held on the 11th of February 1988 at Sudasuna auditorium, Nalin being first bass guitarist of the band. Wisharada Edward Jayakody attended the concert as the chief guest. He stated that Marians was one of the best performing bands he had seen amongst other school bands of Sri Lanka
