Biography

Boris Savchuk, a virtuoso violinist, was born in the Ukraine and began studying music at the age of six. He is classically trained, and plays viola and violin. Boris immigrated with his family to Israel in the fall of 1990 where he now lives near Ashdod. Boris is an Israeli performance and recording artist renowned for playing Klezmer, Yiddish, Chassidic, and Traditional Jewish music rooted in Eastern European culture. He has made seven CD’s of Jewish music in Israel and nine CD’s in the US in various genres. He is frequently featured as a guest artist with other musicians and vocalists. Boris also specializes in Jazz and Improvisational Violin and Viola and includes Romantic and Latin music in his extensive repertoire. He is very active and highly regarded in the Israeli music and artistic community, and has completed ten US tours, debuting in Atlanta, Annapolis, Chattanooga, Greenville, Augusta (GA), Washington DC, New York, Jacksonville, Orlando, Huntsville, Tampa, and Miami. Boris is currently adding especially selected compositions to his playlist of world music.
