    Biography

    Maus where formed in Reykjavík Iceland in 1993. Over a span of 11 years they released six albums, had a number of radio hits, sold thousands of records, won numerous awards and worked with members of some of their own favourite bands who appeared on their albums. The list includes The Cure and GusGus. In 2004 they went on á 9 year hiatus and have not released any new material since then. These days they've been focusing on re-releasing their albums on vinyl, considered an obsolete outlet in the 90's. They occasionally play the odd gig when they feel like it. Since 2005 members have mostly been working on other artistic outlets. Guitarist Páll Ragnar Pálsson is now a known classical composer. Frontman Birgir Örn Steinarsson recently continued his songwriting path through his solo project Biggi Maus. Drummer Daníel Þorsteinsson musical outlets are the deep techno solo project TRPTYCH and pop-band Sometime. Bassist Eggert Gíslason brews his own beer and loves to listen to shoegaze.
