Biography
An authentic storyteller with a heartwarming take on pop and indie, JERUB is an artist you want to get to know about. Born in Nigeria before moving to Nottingham aged 10, the rising artist first made an impact in 2021 as a finalist in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Introducing talent search, standing out from over 10,000 entries and receiving praise from members of the judging panel including Arlo Parks and Tom Grennan. He’s since gone from strength to strength, and before his momentous appearance at The King’s Coronation Concert, he supported RHODES on his UK tour and was included on the official soundtrack for Amazon Prime’s festive movie ‘Your Christmas or Mine?’ which also featured Maisie Peters, Sam Ryder and Priya Ragu to name a few. JERUB’s Finding My Feet EP was released in May 2023 with the focus track "There Till The End" being chosen as the BBC R1 Track of The Week this June. With high praise from various BBC Radio 1 DJs, plus various national TV outlets including BBC1, ITV and Channel 4 getting behind him, expect to hear a lot more from this burgeoning young talent in the months ahead. Having already ticked off stellar performances at The Great Escape and Live at Leeds, JERUB is playing the BBC introducing stage at Latitude this summer, joining Pete Tong for some of his Ibiza Classics festival dates and will be opening for JP Cooper as the main support for his UK/EU tour from September.
