"Relationships are built through music and real life. I want to tell the stories". Growing up in rural Yellowknife, Matt enjoyed the simplicity of small town living; trading in the big city lights for quiet hometown glory. But it was the glow of those city lights that drew Millz to Vancouver in the summer of 2011. He quickly became a sought after multi-instrumentalist, lending his talents as a session musician to many artists and producers throughout the city, all while studying to become an engineer and producer himself. His talent and passion for music caught the ear of local producer Nygel Asselin who teamed up with Matt to co-write and produce his debut single, "Follow You Home". Since then, Matt & Nygel continue to collaborate on the daily. "Dreams drive most of my creativity. I'm a crazy dreamer". Those dreams have started to become a reality for Matt as his popularity grows with every new release. "There are undertones within the music; a fallen relationship, a battle with your innermost demons. These songs are my soul and I write what I know, and what I've experienced. I needed to transfer that energy from my body and mind into the music". Matt Millz has done just that, and has steadily created a loyal fan base of music lovers who eagerly await to see what this crazy dreamer from Yellowknife comes up with next.
