Biography

Capre is the duo of producer Patrick Hameon and vocalist/guitarist Patrick Costello. Over the past 9 years, the pair have drawn inspiration from house, electronic, and hip hop music and are celebrated for their unique interpretation of these influences. Their 2020 release Wurly was a sonically refined progression from their breakthrough single Give and comes off the back of time spent living between Europe, the US, and Australia. Although these tracks were stitched together between various time zones, bedrooms, studios and hemispheres, it was unified over a common love of atmospheric production, provocative colorful storytelling, and lush soundscapes synths/colors. Finally in the same country again, Capre is experimenting with new sounds and ideas whilst always being drawn back to the basement. Capre bring a new energy to their new single “Safe Skin” coupling beautiful vocal haikus with layered guitar work which ascends into an anthem drawing from punk and electronic influences. The lyrics draw a strong reaction expressing the intricacies of trying to understand another’s mental plight “…do you feel safe in your skin? I want to feel just like you do”.
