Mike Rudd was born in New Zealand, but moved to Australia in the late 1960s and joined Ross Wilson and Ross Hannaford in The Party Machine. Mike later founded the legendary bands Spectrum and Ariel, along with the Indelible Murtceps, Instant Replay, W.H.Y., and The Heaters. Mike's biggest commercial success was with the Spectrum song 'I'll Be Gone', which was a #1 hit single in Australia in 1971 and remains a staple on some commercial radio formats to this day. Mike continues to perform with a reworked Spectrum lineup to this day.
