Biography

Asteriska’s vocals set out to grab you and not let go. The singer’s voice is part throwback to the jazz legends of old and part modern sensibility with a haunting twist. A member of the energetic rock group Barasuara, Asteriska has been a staple of the Jakarta music scene for years. While on stage with Barasuara her electric energy and fierce vocals hold nothing back but if you are lucky enough to catch her solo performances, you’ll be treated to a different side of of this enchanted singer entirely. Already with two solo albums to her name, “Distance” and “Past Possessions”, Asteriska’s original music blends jazz and folk with her trademark combination of soothing melodies and powerful emotions.
