Biography
John Robinson also known as Sci made his official debut with his foundation group Scienz Of Life 25 Years ago on Bobbito Garcia’s Fondle ‘Em Records in 1996. The South Bronx born, Far Rockaway and Central New Jersey raised emcee’s extensive music catalog continues to resonate worldwide. J.R. has collaborated with MF DOOM, Talib Kweli, The Artifacts, El Da Sensei, MadLib, Flying Lotus, Showbiz & AG, Daedelus, Carlos Nino, Count Bass D, Mark De Clive Lowe, Ben Williams, Maurice Brown, Daru Jones, Marcus Machado and many more. As an Educator Robinson is rooted in aligning (Pop)Youth Culture with academic subjects to allow for youth to better understand these complex concepts. His passion for this work led to him co-authoring his Youth Culture Power Book with Dr. Jason Rawls. The book is a #HipHopEd Guide to building teacher-student relationships and increasing student engagement. John Robinson is also a founding member in CodeScty a company that uses Music, Videos, Activities, Pop Culture and more to teach under-served communities computer science concepts and how technology works.
