Biography
Lee Aaron is one of Canada’s most iconic vocalists, songwriters, producers, and fearless re-inventors. 1984’s Metal Queen solidified Lee as a trailblazer for women in rock with its title track – the first metal anthem of female empowerment – garnering respect and winning legions of rock fans around the globe. 1989's BodyRock and 1991’s Some Girls Do reached multi-platinum status with chart-toppers like “Whatcha Do to My Body” and “Hands On.” She’s shared stages with Heart, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, Suzi Quatro, Sinead O'Connor, Motley Crue, Van Morrison and more. Chart Magazine proclaimed Aaron’s BodyRock LP one of the 20 most influential Canadian albums of the 1980’s with Alanis Morrisette and Shania Twain both “under Aaron’s influence.” After receiving 10 JUNO nominations, a CMPA Songwriters, Much Music Video, Music Express, and Toronto Music Awards, in 2016 Aaron was finally given a permanent star on the Arts Walk of Fame in Brampton for her contribution to Canadian Music. In 2016 she also blazed back onto the scene with a new rock album, Fire and Gasoline, to rave reviews. She has since released 5 more albums, all of which she self-produced. RADIO ON! (2021) and her latest release ELEVATE (2022) were mixed by world-renowned mix engineer Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Bryan Adams) melding his trademark, kick-ass sonics with what has become Aaron’s signature sound: badass guitar hooks, powerful, bluesy vocals and just enough attitude to tip the scales!
