Biography
What started at a high school talent show after hours of self-taught bedroom guitar lessons eventually led to the national spotlight of the American Idol stage where Eddie Island was finally able to shine as a singer, performer and songwriter. Hailing from Fairfax, Virginia and originally performing under the one-man moniker Lindenbrook, Eddie scraped his way through small college-town shows with punchy folk ballads until deciding to move to Nashville where he became part rideshare expert, part marketing wiz, but mostly a songwriter. He formed a band called Paid Vacay after meeting local guitarist Patrick Gleason, and they dropped their debut EP The Search for Rodney Calhoun in 2017 garnering traction with a single called “Black Cat” that offered radio airplay and music festival slots. Fast forward less than two years when Eddie decided to quit all “regular” jobs and adopt the Eddie Island lifestyle that led to American Idol’s Top 14 where he showed the world that there’s room for everyone on the Island. On his first full album Industry Standard, Eddie is officially trading in his previous life for artistic vibrations full of sticky melodies, unique sounds and vivid guitar riffs. He screams, raps, speaks but mostly sings his way through 10 tracks that he wrote with an inspired group of alt-pop songwriters and producers. Listeners (visitors) on the Island are invited to enter a world where Eddie is searching for love, meaning and a seemingly limitless future.
