Protocol Afro is an indie rock music collective from Jakarta, Indonesia that makes anthemic & catchy music with dancey beats & euphoria-emitting sound. After changing formation a lot of time, at this moment the band formation is Mayo Falmonti, Giano Valentino and Mad Hendrawan Despite having formed in 2009 without any gig before, the band reviewed by Indierockmag.com from france in 2010. The band had their international debut performance in August 2011 at their 4th public performance, at Singapore's Baybeats Festival. The festival also acted as the launch gig of the band's debut EP, which then kick-started the band's journey in the South East Asia music scene. In 2012 the EP also released by February Records, the record label based in Connectitut (USA). In January 2014, Protocol Afro was selected as the opening band for Grammy Award-winning band Phoenix at Jakarta's Love Garage Festival. Months later, the band became one of the very few Indonesian music acts to ever perform in Vietnam, as they wowed the crowd at the ASEAN Pride Music Festival in Hanoi. The festival also marked the launch of Protocol Afro's debut full album, "The Youth", which was rated 8 out 10 by respected UK music media Louder Than War. The band achieved another milestone in 2015, as they became one of the few Indonesian music acts to release an album (physically and digitally) in Japan, through Japanese record label Moorworks Records.
