Biography
Matt Cardle is truly one of the UK’s best male vocal talents of the last decade becoming a multi-platinum selling recording artist & award-winning West End actor. Matt’s classic hits Amazing, When We Collide, Loving You, Starlight and Run For Your Life have all helped clocked up over 21 million streams. Matt’s debut solo single, When We Collide, sold over one million copies and has been named as one of the biggest-selling singles of the past decade. Matt has since released four studio albums; Letters (2011), The Fire (2012), Porcelain (2013) and Time To Be Alive (2018). His most recent EP Purple Crayon was released earlier this year. Debut album Letters was recently released on limited edition vinyl for the first time. Southampton-born Matt has carved out a successful acting CV in London’s West End. He joined the cast of Memphis (Shaftesbury Theatre) in 2015. Matt received the Best West End Debut Award for his show-stopping portrayal of Huey Calhoun. Matt returned to the stage in 2018, appearing as Wally Strand in Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom (Piccadilly Theatre) and in 2019 as Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar (Barbican Theatre). Matt rose to fame eleven years ago as the winner of The X Factor’s highest rating series ever in 2010. An audience of over 19.1 million watched Matt’s duet with international superstar Rihanna. Matt is currently writing and recording his fifth studio album.
