Biography
“Euphoric, anthemic and empowering!” Chris Hawkins, 6 Music “Give’s me Goosebumps” Janice Long, BBC Radio Wales “How good is that!?” Jack Rafferty, BBC Radio Leicester “They are one of my favourite bands full stop.” Dean Jackson, BBC Radio Nottingham Demons of Ruby Mae, born from the ideology of being able to combine both music and art together, are back with a the first single ‘You Got It Wrong’ from their second album ‘What Goes Unseen’ out later this year. The melody and vocal performance on ‘You Got It Wrong’ create a dark and mysterious atmosphere layered upon an epic combination of guitars, pianos, drums alongside synths and beats that grow climactically towards the end. Taking roots from artists such as Depeche Mode, LCD Soundsystem and Nick Cave, Demons of Ruby Mae, are a two piece from Leicester, comprise of Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley. The duo pay homage to people they have met throughout their lives and write about their successes and struggles. Ruby Mae, a fictional character is embedded within each song and is an object ready to be formed by the imagination of the listener. The duo continue to garner accolades across the world with past pieces of work being used extensively on the silver screen including hit US-show ‘Suits’. This, alongside fantastic support from BBC Introducing, Radio 6, XS Manchester and Radio Wales has shown the band are continuing to make waves within the industry.
