Biography
Part of the vanguard of the bitpop scene that formed around bands using the Commodore 64's SID sound chip as a musical foundation, Welle: Erdball (aka W:E) was led by lyricist, programmer, and vocalist Honey (aka Dr. Georg Linde in the side project Das Präparat) and programmer and keyboardist A.L.F. (aka Professor Sternau in Das Präparat). The group (mainly the duo with a seemingly ever rotating cast of percussionists) released a number of demos, singles, and EPs over the years, beginning with 1993's Nyntändo-Shock and continuing through to 2004's Horizonterweiterungen. The group's first album, Alles Ist Möglich, appeared in 1995. In addition to Welle: Erdball, Honey and A.L.F. appeared in the aforementioned Das Präparat, and Honey was also a member of Homo:Futura. In 2006 Welle: Erdball released their fifth album, Chaos Total. ~ Chris True, Rovi
