Biography

Wolcensmen began its journey in 2013 with the release of a 3-song demo CD. It was intended for friends' ears only, but was eventually uploaded to Bandcamp. The growing popularity of the demo demanded a full-length, and with the encouragement of Deivlforst Records, Dan Capp expanded the project culminating in the release of ‘Songs from the Fyrgen’ in Nov 2016. The reception to the debut album was phenomenal and despite no structured press campaign the initial CD pressing sold out within six months, with overwhelming praise from the underground press. In 2017 Wolcensmen signed with Indie Recordings, who reissued ‘Songs from the Fyrgen’ with several new songs and a cover of Bathory’s ‘Man of Iron’ included as a bonus EP under the title of ‘Songs from the Mere’. 2019 saw the arrival of the sophomore album. A concept album—accompanied by a short-story of the same name, also written by Dan—'Fire in the White Stone' again saw critical acclaim with songs such as 'Lorn and Loath' featuring in prominent Spotify playlists. In 2023 Dan recorded an audiobook edition of the 'Fire in the White Stone' short-story, and continues to make music under various guises.
