Biography

Harrison Lemke spent his early days in the shadows of the pines and mountains of Alberta and Idaho. He has been making up songs for as long as he can remember — rewriting country tunes from the radio into ballads about dinosaurs and food, huddling next to an old boombox with his brothers to commit them to tape. These days, he doesn’t sing about dinosaurs as much, and he lives in Texas, where there are few pines and fewer mountains. But he still feels most at home near a tape recorder, now singing story-songs about memory and trauma, about everyday tragedy and triumph, about God and myth and the murky lines in between.
