Biography

New Zealand born, Australian made singer/songwriter Chriddy Black took the world by storm following his audition on The Voice Australia 2019, amassing more than 10M views online. A musician from a young age, Chriddy was raised in a very musical household, which has undoubtedly inspired his passion for pursuing his dream of becoming an artist. In 2017, Chriddy placed second in Usher’s Megastar competition and was invited to Los Angeles to perform at the Grand Finale, which was streamed globally to an audience of millions. This gave Chriddy the opportunity to work alongside Usher in his Hollywood studio as well as network with major producers and creators including Daniel Ek, the founder and CEO of Spotify.  After losing his father at a young age to suicide, Chriddy is an avid spokesman for mental health. 
 Chriddy says: 
 “For me, there’s a direct correlation between writing, performing, making a connection with the audience and mental health. Everybody’s going through something, so let’s talk about it. Music allows me to do that, and I couldn’t be more thankful”. 
 Recently, amongst performing gigs, at various venues and events including weddings and private events, Chriddy has been in the studio working with local producer, Magnus Murphy on developing his sonic aesthetic and exploring his creative potential, ideas and plans. Chriddy is currently working on his debut EP and will release the record and take on a national tour around Australia later this year.
