Biography

Blume popo is a 5-piece female vocal alternative rock band formed in Japan in 2015. The group consists of vocalist Miko Nomura, guitarists Dan Yokota and Ryuto Imanishi, bassist Kodai Mizutani, and drummer Koyama. In 2017, at the young age of 17 at the time, they won RO JACK and participated in ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017. Their musicality is a reinterpretation, deconstruction, and reconstruction of Japan's unique musical culture. These include not only "Kayōkyoku" and J-Pop, but also a wide range of other musical genres such as the "Zankyo" music genre that created an era, the Vocaloid culture that developed on the Niconico platform, and the Japanese indie culture that has matured in its own unique way. Their goal is to create a mixture of all kinds of unique Japanese music culture. This meta-attitude toward Japanese music may be due to composer Dan Yokota's roots in Germany.
