Biography
Platina Jazz create a unique style and blend of anime soundtrack music, interpreted with jazz sensibilities. It was 2008 when Swedish music producer Rasmus Faber first spoke of his love for the musical complexity of anime soundtrack music with his management, who by chance had just had a similar discussion with the Japanese music journalist Yuzuru Sato, who had been expressing his wish to select anime songs for a jazz cover project. And from that moment, Platina Jazz was born! Coming from a background of jazz music, Rasmus had the right connections with musicians in his home city of Stockholm, Sweden. PJ’s first album "Anime Standards vol. 1" was released in 2009 to both critical acclaim and fan delight. Critics loved the "real jazz" sound of the album as performed by such talented musicians, and anime fans delighted to hear such carefully crafted versions of their favourite songs. 8 more albums followed and the band's YouTube channel has flourished, amassing many millions of streams and happy fans. Rasmus Faber is an ever-growing presence in the anime music world having composed the entire scores for The Asterisk War, Harukana Receive, Artiswitch and Kyoukai Senki, as well as writing songs for, among others, Moriarty the Patriot, Macross Delta & Rinne No Lagrange. Platina Jazz will release their 7th studio album in 2022 and will tour throughout 2022 and 2023. For more information, please contact nat@platinajazz.com
