Biography

Swiss native Marius Bear has been hailed as an unforgettable voice. His singing talent was discovered at the age of 21 whilst busking across Switzerland, New York and London, where he spent 1.5 years studying at the BIMM Institute. Since his debut release, Marius has won the 2019 Swiss Music Award for Best Talent, as well as his single, My Crown, going into the Top 150 of Germany’s airplay charts with playlists by SWR3, HR3, and BR3. He has also been playlisted by the likes of New Music Friday Deutschland, Pop Brandneu, New Music Friday Switzerland and Covers Unplugged. A cover of Whitney Houston’s classic ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ was released on the back of his mesmerising performance on RTL’s I Can See Your Voice, and the track stormed to the Top 10 of the Swiss Airplay charts. «I learnt very early on that I don’t need to be ashamed of my feelings. As a man, I’m not afraid to cry and to lay bare my weaknesses to my audience. I don’t want to wear emotional armour, I want to be who I am. And I want to encourage my audience to do the same.» Now, with his song «Boys Do Cry», Marius Bear is bringing this message to an international stage at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Torino. The song was written by Marius Bear and Martin Gallop.
