Biography
Leo Appleyard is a musician and producer from London, releasing music under the moniker ‘Urchin’. Originally an ambitious 8-piece band that performed at the London Jazz Festival and venues around London, Urchin now represents his sonic output, forged in a secluded island studio, in the middle of the Thames river, London. Signing to Bonfire Records in 2019 with the 'Night Light EP' - "So, so good!" Jamie Lidell - Leo took the project in a different direction, collaborating with singers Grace Walker, Archie Lyon-Maris and Vanessa Freeman. 'Without No fear' Featuring Vanessa Freeman hit #1 on Hype Machine - December 2019. In 2018, Leo took a break from life as gigging musician and escaped to the progressive music scene of Melbourne, Australia. Taking in the mix of house, disco and modern jazz from the northern districts of Fitzroy and Brunswick. 'Take Time' EP is the reflection of that time spent in a creative zone, in a new scene whilst underpinned by the narrative of UK producers Bonobo, Maribou State, Ross from Friends.
