Biography
THE DARTS exploded onto the scene in 2016 with a fiercely classic sound that invests deeply in late 60’s garage, with shadows of horror pop and tinges of psychedelic rock - the perfect act for the Bride of Frankenstein's bachelorette party. Following the end of their band The Love Me Nots, vocalist/keyboardist Nicole Laurenne (The Love Me Nots, Motobunny, Zero Zero) and bassist Christina Nunez (The Love Me Nots, The Madcaps) decided to put together the all-girl band they had been talking about for years. Tapping some of their favorite players for the project, the band wrote and released two EPs within months. In 2017, the band signed with Dirty Water Records (UK), and released the first full-length vinyl, ME.OW. In 2018, Jello Biafra's legendary punk label Alternative Tentacles Records released their first 7” vinyl and and in 2018, The Darts did a US tour with The Damned. AT released their latest album, I LIKE YOU BUT NOT LIKE THAT, in 2019. The band has crisscrossed the US and Europe many times, including performances at major festivals like Sjock Fest and Punk Rock Bowling, performing with The Black Lips, Joan Jett, The Living End, The Dwarves, Dead Kennedys, Devo, and Turbonegro. They have backed both Biafra and Dwarves' frontman Blag Dahlia live on stages and were featured on tv’s Peaky Blinders. New crowd-funded album “SNAKE OIL” coming March 2023, co-produced by Jello Biafra himself. Stay tuned for lots of touring in 2023!
