Biography
Crushing Deathcore riffs with unpredictable twists and turns, Portland band Earth Eater tackles overcoming adversity in life and preaches gaining strength through struggle. The band was initially founded in the summer of 2017 by Guitarist Benton Joseph, who was joined by Vocalist Joshua Barrett and Drummer Cody Pulliam. Earth Eater has since played over a dozen gigs in the Portland area and around the pacific northwest, becoming a memorable act in their local extreme metal scene. Taking influence from the sound of 2000s Deathcore and Death metal, the trio has since released two EPs titled ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Immortal’ in 2018 and 2019, respectively, as well as their debut full-length album ‘Infinite Ruin’. Earth Eater preaches gaining strength through struggle and aspires to motivate its fans to overcome adversity. Benton notes; ‘We want our music to be there for people as a release from their daily lives, help them overcome adversity, release their emotions, and be good people. We want our music to provide an outlet for people, so they don’t go out in the world and do bad things.’ Earth Eater’s latest single, ‘Legion,’ featuring Left to Suffer vocalist Taylor Barber was released along with a music video and their debut full-length ‘Infinite Ruin’ on the 18th of May, 2022. The band plans to expand their reach in the pacific northwest and is working towards being involved in bigger tours and bringing their relentless brand of Deathcore to new fans soon.
