Biography
Nate Salman has been making music since their childhood, using anything they can get their hands on to express the magic they find beneath the surface of daily life. Channeling stories from somewhere beyond, they have worked obsessively to refine their unique sound, seeking always for deeper meaning and authenticity. With influences ranging from Björk, Kate Bush, FKA Twigs, Arca and Radiohead to old British folk songs, their music is a tapestry of experimentation. Imagining themself as a mythical entity who has the ability to wander between alternative realities in order to bring clarity and perspective, Waterstrider is more than just a musical project - it is a way of being and experiencing life. This mode of existence is full of invitations to others, as Waterstrider nurtures a local scene in the Bay Area, hosting regular performances and supporting artists in manifesting their own forms of creativity. Since their first album, ‘Constellation’ (2011), Waterstrider has been praised by indie music magazines and followed closely by fans across the world. Today Waterstrider’s music has been streamed millions of times. Never ceasing to innovate and evolve - Waterstrider continues to be one of the most exciting artists emerging from the West Coast scene.
