(What is love?) Love is incredibly simple When we are children, we love fully And we don't question where our love comes from Or if it's enough, and we don't question either To give love, we follow our intuition And we gotta stretch, you gotta flex it But it's a part of us When we grow older, we start to see love as a concept Within this world we live in, love is marketed as a package deal And we've all these different boxes that we feel like we need to feel Like love for our selves, body love, love for our communities Romantic partners, friends, the environment And when we don't feel like we filled all these boxes We, we feel hopeless And always seem to be, like, trying to catch our tail That's not love, that's consumerism I often see love as light Maya Angelou puts it really nicely "People won't remember what you said or what you did People will always remember how you made them feel"
