    Biography

    Embracing jangle, cascading echo, and sunshiny hooks, Gingerlys formed in Brooklyn in 2013. What started as a set of acoustic demos by guitarist Matt Richards evolved into the Jumprope EP, issued on 7" vinyl by Shelflife Records in 2014. It featured the founding lineup of Richards, singer/keyboardist Jackie Mendoza, lead guitarist Colin O'Neill, bass player Kevin Doxsey, and drummer Brian Alvarez. The quintet started playing shows on a steady basis in the New York City area before returning to the studio with Connor Hanwick (the Drums, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart). The resulting full-length debut, Gingerlys, was co-released by Topshelf Records and Babe City Records in November 2017. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
