Biography

Donald Otim better known as MAUIMØON, is a singer-songwriter from Uganda transforming the new sound of the underground Alté scene. Born in Rwanda with sonic influences from R&B, Afro-pop & Hip-hop, it's no surprise that his sound transcends borders as well as norms. His early influences were artists like Pharrell, Missy Elliot, Brandy & Timbaland to name a few. MAUIMØON’s sound has continued to grow since releasing his Alté single Sweeta in 2022 garnering a considerable amount of streams on both Apple Music & Spotify. His other notable singles include We Can Go Again, Here They Come & Leaving Summer. Last year he also released Cherry Sweet from his upcoming project “From Uganda With Love” which will come out on the 17th of February.
