Biography

Shackled are a band from central New Jersey. After forming in spring 2018, they’ve been focused on one single goal - creating straight-up hardcore. The band takes inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including bands like No Warning, Cold World, Madball, E-Town Concrete, Outburst, & Hangman. With the combination of their different musical backgrounds, Shackled has established their own unique sound that doesn’t go too far towards any particular subgenre. 
 Shackled has toured extensively off of their 2019 EP, One Way Out, playing countless shows across the country, including fests like This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia, PA, as well as the upcoming FYA Fest in Tampa, FL. In November 2021, the band put out their debut album, Doubt Surrounds All - their first release with From Within Records. 
 On Doubt Surrounds All, Shackled fully matures into the band they’ve always aimed to be. Flexing the range of their musical capabilities, they lean into the darker, more experimental side of the genre, while making sure each track stays true to the traditional hardcore influences at the core of the band’s sound. The new record serves as a catharsis for the band to explore and reflect on themes of the doubt, fear, and uncertainty that comes with daily life - as well as the ability to rise above and overcome those struggles. ~ Angie Aristodemo
