Biography
Allow Sloan Peterson to reintroduce herself - to herself. Dusky-voiced and acid-tongued, Peterson has been calling it how she sees it her entire career. But somewhere in the vast canyon of lockdown, the prismatic artist forgot what she was looking for. “I had a tour in May [last year] and was going through a breakup at that point and had a little bit of a snap,” she confesses. “I didn’t know what I was doing, I was really suffering from impostor syndrome.” Nearly two years in the wilderness brought back into sharp relief the way Peterson wanted to make music, with a DIY work ethic that she never truly left behind - even after signing with a major. “Everyone is throwing the word ‘authentic’ around,” she chuckles down the line from her Byron home, “but what’s authentic about other people making decisions for you?”
