Biography
With a penchant for experimenting and sampling different spaces and shaping them between hypnotic techno and synth pop, Clarian's productions surf on introspective synth hooks and spacey landscapes. Cited as a producer’s producer, his contributions range from the volcanic emergence of Detroit’s Visionquest, to the surgical and darker spectrums of Life and Death, as well as creative techno fixtures like Turbo and Kompakt with his renowned 2017 and 2019 releases, “Ankh” and “Time Safari”. Clarian’s pursuit of unconventional engineering techniques was inspired by his love of Sci-Fi. Writers like John Brunner and composers like Vangelis intertwine seamlessly with pioneer artists and labels like Kraftwerk and Mute, fueling his obsession with synths and drum machines. These influences resonate overtly in his debut ambient-based synth pop album, “Television Days” released on Balance in 2018. His list of collaborations include visionaries like Tiga and Guy Gerber. These inspired musical friends have led to engineering duties for Guy and P. Diddy's brainchild, 11:11 and many more. Clarian also served as a creative backbone and A&R to Seth Troxler’s label Soft Touch; he helped to launch Play It Say It, as well as Felix Da Housecat's Founders of Filth. As we enter a new decade, Clarian's catalog continues to expand further to labels like Bedrock, leaving a unique trace for listeners and clubbers to freely follow, without the need to label it.
