Biography
French rock singer/songwriter Saez adopted the moniker Yellow Tricycle for the release of his fifth album, A Lovers Prayer (2009). Born Damien Saez on August 1, 1977, in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, France, he grew up in the southern cities of Marseille and Dijon and began studying music at a young age. In 1999 he made his full-length album debut with Jours Étranges, which spawned the Top 20 hit single "Jeune et Con" and established Saez as an up-and-coming star on the French rock scene. His second full-length release, the double-album effort God Blesse/Katagena (2002), reached the Top Ten of the French albums chart. It also charted in the neighboring Francophone countries of Belgium and Switzerland. Third album Debbie (2004) saw his popularity increase further as the album went all the way to number two on the French albums chart and number four in Belgium. Saez then switched labels, moving from Universal to Wagram for his next full-length release, the triple-album effort Varsovie/L'Alhambra/Paris (2008), which was another blockbuster success, peaking at number three in France. The following year's Yellow Tricycle album A Lovers Prayer became a Top Ten hit in France and reached the Top 20 in Belgium. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
