Biography
In 2020, as the world went into lockdown, Sam Ryder uploaded the first of his now infamous covers. They quickly caught the attention of some famous fans (think Justin Bieber, Sia, Alicia Keys and Elton John) – with compilations of his videos appearing on The Ellen Show, BBC’s Newsbeat and more. As the videos kept coming, so did the fans – with his socials standing at 10 million at the end of that year. Fast forward a year and Sam Ryder stood with 16 million social followers and was crowned as TikTok’s most popular UK artist account for the second year in a row (beating off stiff competition from Ed Sheeran). In 2021, Sam released his 5-song EP ‘The Sun’s Gonna Rise’ including track 'Whirlwind’ – that begins to describe the journey that Sam has been on over the past year. After spending much of his adult life touring, writing and performing in bands, living in Hawaii and owning a vegan coffee shop; he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a solo artist. Sam's first event at London’s Courtyard Theatre in October sold out in under ten minutes, nearly as quickly as his first full sold-out UK tour earlier this year. With global streams now at 100+ million, Sam stands ready to make his first live foray into Europe and beyond, as well as an array of summer of festivals. Then there’s the very special release of Sam's new song SPACE MAN, that you can listen to now! In 2022, world domination might not be a stretch too far for this incredible talent...
