Biography
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and coming from an entirely musical family, DAP started playing the piano at the age of 4, passed his ABRSM Grade 8 Piano with distinction at 13, and went on to attain a DipABRSM Performance Diploma on the Piano at 17. He attended the Berklee College of Music for two semesters on the Contemporary Writing and Production track. On his departure after the summer, DAP released a mixtape titled GoodBye For Now. DAP released his fourth mixtape Goodbye for Never on Oct. 27th, 2014, and in late Dec. of 2014 released a joint project entitled Jam On Scones with Shane Chubbz under their duo moniker The Contract. In Sept. 2015, he recorded at the renowned Abbey Road Studios in London with Grammy award winning Uptown Funk producer Mark Ronson after being selected for a competition produced by Converse. In May 2016, DAP graduated from Brown University with a BA in Classics (Latin and Greek) and Computer Music + Multimedia. He released the Two Roads EP April 28th 2017 and followed with the weekly series Contract Thursdays I and II before attending Columbia Law School. On November 9th, 2018, during his second year, he released the visual album "Everybody Falls In The Summer". DAP released CTIII (the third installment of the Contract Thursday's series) in the fall of 2019. DAP released the Powers Vol. 1 EP in Apr. 2020, and following admission to the NY Bar the EP “I’m Glad You Made It This Far” in Feb., 2021. DAP released the sequel Powers Vol. 2 on Jul. 2nd.
