Biography
“Peregrihn” has been the dreamy retrowave solo project of Jacob Alexander since 2018. Influenced by the indie chillwave and vaporwave scenes of the internet in the late 2010s, he sought to learn the fundamentals of the blossoming retro electronic culture but to also experiment and apply his influences from alternative rock and indie pop. As of late 2021, Peregrihn has evolved into a different form as Jacob recruited college friends Cameron Corban, Charles Wilson, and Garrett Tonos to form a group dedicated to experimenting with indie/alternative rock textures taking influences from 90s psychedelic/shoegaze/dream pop, 80s alternative/post-punk/new wave/house, as well as modern interpretations of those long held themes; Jacob and his band hold high the works of Slowdive, Sweet Trip, Pale Saints, and Tame Impala as well as George Clanton, Neon Indian, Ringo Deathstarr, and Airiel who all have had significant influence in the writing and production of Peregrihn’s forthcoming debut LP, “Holding Back The High”.
