Biography
I moved to Nashville in 2010 to write songs, but quickly realized I could make a living playing guitar for folks. I’ve had a blast doing that, getting to tour with stellar artists like Colbie Caillat, Jessie James Decker, and a ton of talented folks I now get to call my friends. This whole ride has been a blast, but I’ve never stopped growing as a writer & a producer, & my dream has never changed. I'm not the first musician to find their own sound while playing for others (Jimi Hendrix, Don Henley, & Duane Allman all did too), & it honestly feels like a rite of passage. A beautiful thing happens when you play music for a living, you can’t help but be immersed in it. You’re forced to grow beyond where you thought your limits would always be. You learn exactly what you like & don't like along with the theory that teaches you why. It's great for the art & craft of it and without all those gigs I wouldn't have my sound now. The music I'm making is the culmination of 12 years of touring & sessions as a guitarist and a deep love for music that has only grown by being immersed in music & a part of the vibrant Nashville music community. If I'm going to release music, then I want it to be commercial while diving deep enough that my musician friends are going to enjoy playing and listening to it just as much as anyone. I’ve loved making this music and I hope you enjoy listening! -Jonathan
