Biography
Inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall, Naked Aggression is a hardcore punk band that started in Madison, WI in 1990 as a protest against the 1st Gulf War. Shortly after, they transplanted to Los Angeles via Oakland. 1991 to 1998 saw the band release 3 albums, 3 eps , a live record at Gilman Street, a comp with Los Crudos & a split with Aus Rotten. They extensively toured N. America and Europe. Penelope Spheeris approached the band in 1996 and featured them in her documentary "The Decline of Western Civilization: Part 3", for which guitarist Phil Suchomel recorded his fist soundtrack and the film won the Freedom of Expression Award at The Sundance Film Festival. In 1998, as they were about to embark on tour for Gut-Wringing Machine, the band came to an abrupt end when Phil died from asthma and the label shelved the record. Five years of mourning passed. In 2003, in light of the 2nd Gulf War, Kirsten decided to reform the band with drummer Aaron Austin and bassist Meghan Mattox. Since the reformation of Naked Aggression they’ve toured the U.S., Europe & Japan. They’ve released split Lps with Die Schwarzen Schaffe Compary Records, All or Nothing HC EmancyPunx Records and Comps with MDC, Raw Power, Flipout AA & Elected Officials. Heard it All Before & a long awaited re-release of Gut-Wringing Machine out on SOS Records. In March 2022 Grimace Records released Party Down.
