Biography

Rotana, named to BBC's 100 Most Powerful Women, was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career, straddling a profound love for her home and the determination to be free, Rotana’s music speaks to the journey of self realization in the face of Saudi tradition, god, sexuality, family and the immigrant experience. Her mission is to disrupt generational narratives that teach us that our bodies are bad, sex and the erotic is wrong and that pleasure is for men only. Rotana is currently working on her debut album and her one woman show/musical, Alien of Extraordinary Ability, which was scheduled for a 6 week residency at the Manhattan Theatre Club but cancelled due to COVID.
