Biography
Olivia Dear (formerly Olivia Millerschin) captivates audiences with her celestial voice, wrapping them in a gossamer blend of modern pop and folk songwriting. Hailing from Detroit, Dear has won two John Lennon Songwriting Awards, the Great American Song Contest, and could recently be heard singing at 2018 Olympics for U.S. Ice Dancers, Madison Chock and Evan Bates. After years of touring and releasing music, Dear explains the name change: “When I started writing and releasing original music, I was 14-years-old and, naturally, I used my family name. Even then, I knew ‘Millerschin’ was A LOT, but it never occurred to me that I could or should go by any other name. In 2020, I was given the funding and time to start again, say what I mean, and create the music I've always wanted to. The new title originates from my Grandma, who has greeted me as ‘Olivia Dear' since birth." Averaging 150+ shows annually, spanning from Los Angeles to London, living rooms to concert halls; Dear is no stranger to touring. But over the past year, backed by TIDAL streaming services, Olivia Dear is turning all of her creative and emotional efforts towards this new music, new name, and new statement.
