Biography
Known for his membership in the alternative rap duo Snook and his production work for others, Oskar Linnros is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and producer who made his solo debut as a soul-pop singer with the chart-topping single "Från och Med Du" and the Top Five hit album Vilja Bli in 2010. Born Hans Oskar Linnros on August 15, 1983, in Sundbyberg, Sweden, he initially rose to fame in the alternative rap duo Snook. Comprised of himself under the moniker Kihlen and fellow rapper Daniel Adams-Ray, Snook released two albums before splintering, Vi Vet Inte Vart Vi Ska Men Vi Ska Komma Dit (2004) and Är (2006), and though neither proved especially successful from a commercial standpoint, they garnered substantial critical acclaim, including the award for Best Swedish Act at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards. After parting ways with Adams-Ray, Linnros took to producing hits for rapper Petter, the soft rock band Fibes, Oh Fibes!, and soul-pop singer Veronica Maggio. The latter collaboration proved most successful, as Maggio's second album, Och Vinnaren Är... (2008), on which every song was produced and co-written with Linnros, racked up three hit singles and five Swedish Grammy nominations. In the wake of his success as a hitmaker, Linnros embarked on a solo recording career as a soul-pop singer in association with Universal Music. His debut single, "Från och Med Du," was a chart-topping smash hit. His full-length debut, Vilja Bli, was similarly successful, reaching number two on the Swedish albums chart. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
